edX is a US-based massive open online course (MOOC) provider founded by Harvard and MIT. edX courses consist of weekly learning sequences. Each learning sequence consists of short films interspersed with interactive learning exercises that allow students to immediately apply what they have learned in the videos. Classes include video tutorials similar to small on-campus discussion groups and an online discussion forum where students can submit and discuss questions among themselves and with teaching assistants.
