Jadavpur University to start online college by facilitating students with smartphones
Jadavpur University has issued a notification signed by the vice-chancellor of the university. The notification reads: “The committee mentioned below has been formed to administer the funding to be spent on providing handsets and data packs to students.“JU Pro Vice Chancellor Chiranjib Bhattacharya signed the document, and the names mentioned in it will seek to provide the digital facilities to the students.

Jadavpur University Online College Plan
Jadavpur University plans to start all of its arts and business courses by September 14, followed by engineering courses on September 25. The courses will be entirely online, including the tests. The questionnaires will follow the online mode. Students will be required to take the exam once the questionnaire has been mailed out within the time limit.
Jadavpur University Smartphone Package
The move comes after the outbreak of coronavirus cases in the country. Jadavpur university smartphone plan is to help students who are financially challenged to follow the online mode of education. Students will be given the phones to continue education without any hindrance. Due to the COVID-19 situation, all classes have been moved online and student data packs will only assist in attending classes for those who do not have one.
The admission process for Jadavpur University ended at the end of September and classes will start soon, according to a report by PTI. The new semesters follow the online mode according to the same report. Jadavpur University will hold the first exams for the 2020-21 academic year between 1st and 10th October. Thus, students enrolled in the courses will have to take daily online lessons.

In a press release, JU Vice Chancellor Chiranjib Bhattacharya said: “We will provide them with good quality sets that are compatible with internet facilities, share, upload and download options and for those who need a good connectivity data pack and recharge for three months” as reported by PTI. Jadavpur University is conducting a survey of all students and the assessments will give them an idea of the problems students are facing in terms of internet and connectivity ahead of the course start date which is from September 14th. Admission in Jadavpur University for all streams is complete and classes will start when students are fully equipped with the facilities.
