The courses, which are delivered entirely online, cover areas such as business, IT, customer service and care to help develop professional skills, train staff or prepare for a career change.

Although the content is self-taught and can be adapted to work or family life, learners have access to the support of a dedicated online support team.

The courses include:

  • Principles of end-of-life care
  • Infection prevention and control
  • Understanding work in the health sector
  • Nutrition and health
  • Computer user skills
  • Business and administration
  • Customer service
  • Lean organization management techniques
  • Equality and diversity

Level 2 qualifications are similar to GCSE A * -C or 4-9 and are a great addition to a CV.

Each course can be completed in 15 weeks or less with progression options and related courses available at Gloucestershire College for those who decide to continue their education.

College Business Manager Amie Nutbrown said: “We understand that in today’s climate, it is difficult for professionals, parents and anyone to think about their next career steps or just develop their skills.

“Our solution is a series of nationally recognized online courses in key areas such as business, healthcare, IT and management, which are completely flexible on a self-learning basis, with the added bonus of a personalized support from our team.

“Anyone can register for these courses for free and qualify in 15 weeks or less, giving them plenty of time to plan their next professional steps or learning goals. “

The free short courses are part of a wider range of online courses available at Gloucestershire College, including business and finance, access to HE, health and social services, apprenticeships and languages.
